Eco-Tips - Green Cuisine

So, think about being eco-friendly when you cook.

1. Your peach cobbler-better to serve at Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving or Hanukkah?
2. When you oven cook, use--glass, non-stick metal or silicone bakeware?
3. The dish contributing most to deforestation-caesar salad, filet mignon, vegetable soup?
4. The fish which is ecologically better to buy-farmed salmon, US farmed tilapia, orange roughy?
5. Cut your veggies on--a plastic cutting board, wood cutting board, the USA Today?
6. Heating one mug of water, best heated by- microwave, electric stove, gas stove?
7. Get ice for your next party from--tray in freezer, refrig icemaker, buy bag from store
8. Dispose of food scraps by--put in trash, feed to dog, compost
9. Buy cereal, nuts, grains, rice, etc from--local food stores, big box stores, in smaller quantities
10. Replace your kitchen countertop with--recycled glass or paper, stone, laminate
